Ben Dyer has been making art since childhood, and he began creating jewelry in 1975. His work is exhibited in galleries and art shows nationwide. Direct metal jewelry techniques such as cold forging, hand-forming, texturing, and gold soldering are the processes he uses to construct the jewelry. The designs are labor-intensive, and the finished work is detailed and meticulous.
Ben Dyer Leafy Tree Branch Pin/Pendant
18k Royal Gold leaf, 14k Rose Gold leaf, and a 14k Palladium/White Gold branch with a small Yellow Gold leaf. Small Diamonds flush-set, a marquise Peridot, teardrop Imperial Topaz, and a tear-shaped Aquamarine, all set in handmade bezels of 18k and 22k Yellow Gold. Has a loop for a chain or small choker. 2″ x 2 1/4″

For Ben Dyer, a successful design suggests motion, reveals unique aspects from different angles, and expresses elegance and grace in asymmetry. In his work, flowing lines and elongated forms contrast with coarser, textured, or hard-edged shapes. Use of gemstones and colors of gold provide accent and color contrast. A further concern is the discipline of creating the maximum design expression within the economic constraints of working with gold. Ben uses this limitation as one might use the structure of the Haiku or the sonata.

Ben Dyer E-213 Swirl Earring in Palladium/Gold Alloy
14k Spiral earring in Palladium/White Gold. This is a sculptural, 3-dimensional design when worn. Dangles at 1 1/2″. The ear wire springs open and closed to form a secure catch for these beautiful, elegant earrings. The Palladium/Gold alloy we use has no nickel and is hypo-allergenic for most women with metal allergies.

Artist Statement
I wrestle with living in tune with both history and the needs and dreams of the future. I was driven to a career that allows for creative personal expression and provides a livelihood. Attracted to a craft that has a varied, complex, and ancient technology, I am intrigued by the concept of body ornamentation with its spiritual and mystical associations.
My artwork is a celebration of nature, but on a deeper level reflects my grieving
over loss of the natural environment, the destruction of many life-forms and damage to the earth. Consequently, in the studio we are highly sensitive to the environmental impact of jewelry production. We generally use hand tools and most materials are recycled; chemical and electrical use is kept at a minimum.

Metalsmith and Jewelry Designer
Danielle Miller grew up in a steel mill town in the Laurel Highlands of western Pennsylvania. Growing up surrounded by beautiful rolling hills juxtaposed by bridges, railroads, and industry greatly affected her design sensibility. When she was five years old, she announced to her parents that she was going to be an artist, and as a high school student discovered her passion for metals when she made a large-scale welded-steel sculpture.
Danielle Miller Flexible Marquis Pendant
A flexible multi-marquise drop in oxidized Sterling Silver with 18k Gold bail and free spinning 4mm cultured Freshwater Pearls. Lobster claw clasp on an omega chain.

Oxidized Silver (right) 0
Using Sterling Silver and 18k Gold with traditional jewelry making techniques, Danielle strives to create elegant and comfortable jewelry with a playful twist. Pearls or gemstone settings may spin like a propeller, slide freely across wires like an abacus, or rock to and fro like a see-saw.
Danielle Miller Geometric Bubble Set
Inspired by the effervescence of champagne, this pendant and earring set is a rich and playful combination of Sterling Silver, 18k Gold, colorful stones, and freely spinning Pearls. Pendant holds one 4-5mm cultured Freshwater Pearl, 4mm square Peridot and 3mm round faceted Blue Topaz. Omega chain with lobster clasp. Earrings contain one 3.5mm cultured Freshwater Pearl and 3mm faceted Blue Topaz with sterling silver posts.

At eighteen, Danielle Miller moved to Philadelphia to attend Moore College of Art and Design, intending to concentrate her studies on sculpture, but became entranced by jewelry making. She transferred to Tyler School of Art at Temple University for their renowned Jewelry/Metals Department, where she received a bachelor's degree in fine art.
Danielle Miller Mod Rocker Ring

Available in (left to right) Blue Topaz, Garnet, or Peridot.

After college, Danielle perfected her skills by working under a master goldsmith. During that time, she worked on her own designs at night and on weekends, and began selling her jewelry at craft shows. In 1998, she was finally able to devote herself full-time to her own business.
Artist Statement
Clean, simple geometric forms are the building blocks of my designs, which are inspired by architecture, machines, toys, and nature. By combining these seemingly different influences, I am exploring the concept of jewelry as a playful object.
My present work consists of jewelry with kinetic elements designed to attract and engage the attention of the wearer. These articulated parts rely on the action of the wearer for motion. This action can be a simple turn of the body or a deliberate manipulation of the movable parts.
This kinetic aspect of my work creates an intimate and unique relationship between the jewelry and the wearer. My jewelry, by definition, is not only an object of personal adornment but also an object of personal interaction and recreation.
I now make my home in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in South Carolina with my husband Ben Gilliam and our cats, Olivia and Fredo. Ben, also a metal artist, teaches at the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities.

Master Goldsmith and Jewelry Designer
Krikawa Jewelry Designs is a small, family operated business, located in Tucson, Arizona. KJD is run by the husband and wife team of John and Lisa Krikawa. Lisa is a professional jewelry designer, master goldsmith, and business developer for KJD, and John is an Information Technologist. Each ring is handcrafted one at a time with extremely fine attention to proportions, aesthetics, and technique, providing you with a one-of-a-kind work of art.
Modern Puzzle Ring
This unique ring combines two separate bands - one band of palladium (light gray) and the other of 14k Yellow Gold - creating a very elegant contrast of colors between the two metals, two separate rings that interlock to make a unique ring, symbolic of the union of a couple. Each ring is handmade by a master goldsmith to your specifications. Available in 14k White Gold, 18k Yellow Gold, or Palladium.

Lisa Krikawa
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Lisa Krikawa moved to the United States in 1976, and has since lived in southern California and in Arizona. In 1997, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with emphasis in jewelry and metalsmithing. The jewelry is inspired by historic and futuristic forms, influences that stem from Lisa's studies in traditional and contemporary styles of jewelry and metalsmithing, as well as her studies in art history. Simple in form, elegant, unique, and sculptural, this jewelry is a fine addition to any jewelry collection.
Carved Wing Engagement Ring
This design elegantly features a square cut Green Tourmaline, although other stone shapes are just as beautiful. The crossing of metals on the side of the ring draws the eye up to the stone where the divided setting holds the diamond at its four corners. Available in 14k White Gold, 18k Yellow Gold, or Palladium.
50
Lisa has received many awards for her designs and craftsmanship. This year, 2008, Lisa and her team have already won numerous awards. Krikawa swept the team division in the B.W.Simon International Bench Jewelers 4th Annual Passion Awards Design Competition. Lisa was again a winner of the annual MJSA Vision Award Design Competition with a 1st place in their Mokume Gane Distinction and a 2nd place in the Palladium Distinction.
Carved Leaf Engagement Ring
The ultimate in simple elegance, this solitaire showcases the gemstone within the organic, carved detailing of the prongs. Available in 14k White Gold, 18k Yellow Gold, or Palladium.

Award-Winning Jewelry Designer and Goldsmith
On June 2, 2008, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awarded the prestigious Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent Accessory Design to Philip Crangi. Crangi was trained at the renowned Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) as a goldsmith, and has always drawn inspiration from history: Greco=Roman artifacts, Baroque ironwork, and Japanese armor are but a few of the references found in his work.
Philip Crangi Blackened Steel Ring
A bulb of blackened steel is patterned with 14K yellow gold studs, and is perched atop a coordinating gold band for an eye-catching ring possessed of industrial glamour. As featured in Elle Magazine.
00
Philip's work is regularly featured in Vogue, W, InStyle, Bazaar, and Elle, and he has quite a celebrity following - Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Demi Moore, Lindsay Lohan, Lucy Liu, and julianne moore
are all devotees of his designs. “I would describe my aesthetic as one of contrast in material, color, and mood,” Philip says.
Blackened Steel and Gold Cross Necklace
A stylish and elegant piece, exemplifying Philip Crangi's take on the symbolic cross motif. The pendant measures 3/4″ wide by 1 1/4″ tall. The gold back-plate is affixed to the anodized metal front piece with tiny gold pins that have been hammered through. Another gold ring is attached to the top with pins to nicely border the cross design. Hangs on a 18″ gold chain.
75
After graduating from RISD, Philip and his sister and partner, Courtney Crangi, began creating unique objects and jewelry from their New York City studio. In 2001, the Crangis launched their first fine jewelry collection, using materials not often associated with traditional fine jewelry design. The signature collection combines age-old techniques with a unique palette of gold, wrought iron, and steel.
Philip Crangi Short Crest Pendant
Philip Crangi is famous for making this style crest out of steel and gold. The hand-pounded crest has yellow gold nails hammered and soldered through it. The crest hangs from a 21″ yellow gold necklace chain. Philip Crangi has a signature necklace closure consisting of a ring and a horseshoe. Feed the horseshoe all the way through the ring and it's closed. As featured in Harper's Bazaar.
25
Crangi partnered with The Gap earlier this year in their second annual Design Editions white-blouse makeover; Crangi supplied a complementary rugged brass and metal chain and bolt necklace. And back in February, he teamed with Vera Wang to create jewelry “on steroids,” as Wang told W magazine, for her runway collection.
Born to a pair of art history professors in the polo playing area of Boca Raton, Florida, Philip Crangi's collection of jewelry found its roots in a number of historical influences and styles. Using a mix of motifs and mediums, Crangi's elegantly everyday designs speak to both the downtown crowd and the Park Avenue set.

After picking up a tourmaline stone on an African safari and designing it into a ring at the age of 13, Kara Ross knew she had a vision and would love to design. Kara Ross is now known for her exotic one-of-a-kind handbags, her gorgeous jewelry, and her use of precious and semiprecious gemstones. Kara expects a woman who wears her designs to have an “independent and unique sense of style and be classic yet willing to take risks and stand out.”

Before launching her first full fine jewelry collection in 2002, Ross got certified as a gemologist at the Gemological Institute of America, and her eye for color is a strong element of her work . Set to hit stores this fall, the lower-priced fashion jewelry collection also includes the gem-laden cutout cuffs she initially designed for a J. Mendel runway show.
Artist Statement
One of my fondest memories of my childhood was a safari to Africa with my parents at thirteen. To commemorate the trip, they allowed me to choose a native gemstone of my choice. When we returned home, my parents let me design my own ring with the tourmaline I chose. I still have the ring today. To know that I could create something wholly original at a young age really affected me.
I think fashion is such a personal thing - just like appreciation for art - you may love it and the person sitting next to you may hate it. It doesn't make one right or wrong or better or worse - it's just a personal feeling. I find as I get older I am not as concerned with how people view me as long as I feel as if I'm in a good place. I do what I feel is right and comfortable for me. I like, most importantly, feeling comfortable, I hate feeling confined and fussy.

Jewelry Designer and Metalsmith
Jewelry designer Becky Kelso believes in following her heart, instead following what's hip. Kelso was working on becoming a costume designer, studying illustration and fashion design at the Fashion Institute in Southern California. However, during the two years she spent living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Kelso began to explore the art of jewelry making.

Discreetly excessive yet casual, this Becky Kelso ring is perfect for any occasion. Calcite face measures 5/8″w x 3/8″h, and is accentuated by its bold 14k gold setting and band.

Her jewelry has been featured in various magazines such as Vogue, British Vogue, Italian Elle, InStyle, Lucky, New York Times magazine, and Martha Stewart Weddings. With such delicacy found in all of Kelso's creations, it's no wonder that her jewelry is highly coveted by some of Hollywood's style stars, including Cate Blanchett, Penelope Cruz, and Cameron Diaz.
18k Gold Leaf Dangles with Rose Quartz
The delicate leaf design of these Becky Kelso dangles provide an organic touch, while the pale pink Rose Quartz rondelles provide just the right sparkle. 18k gold.

Serving as apprentice to a jeweler and silversmith in Mexico, Becky Kelso quickly learned the tricks of the trade and debuted her own collection in 1995. Kelso's collections feature timeless pieces that reflect her travels - especially to Morocco and Turkey - as well as her many cross-cultural interests.
14k Gold & Turquoise Pendant Necklace
Teal green turquoise gives this Becky Kelso necklace a unique touch, and the delicately detailed gold setting provides a look that's wonderfully timeless.

The beauty in Becky Kelso's designs is rooted in her life. Her education, frequent travels, and upbringing in a family who appreciate art - all these important elements influence the creation of her jewelry collection. Fascinated at an early age by her mother's and grandmother's antique jewelry, Becky now uses colorful gemstones to creative timeless pieces that feel like heirlooms the minute you put them on.
Becky's designs utilize many jewelry techniques to create her intricate jewelry designs, including fabricating, engraving, granulation, casting, forging, and wire wrapping. Her designs come in sterling silver, 14k and 18k yellow and rose Gold. Her collection includes floral-carved, faceted, and rose-cut stones such as Pink Tourmaline, Aquamarine, and Rubies, often set in Lacy
bezels. The overall appearance is delicate, feminine and timeless.

18k yellow gold lever back earrings with 8×6mm Peridot.

Rather than sketching ideas on paper, Jane Bohan works directly with the materials. She feels this tactile approach best allows her to create the drape of a necklace or the swing of an earring. The artist expresses her creative spirit through combinations of surface textures, rich colored gold, bold gemstones, and luscious pearls. The result is jewelry with a soft, sculptural quality that is the very embodiment of femininity.

Unlike mass-produced jewelry, every Jane Bohan creation is handmade to her exacting standards by jewelers in her New York City studio. Fusing dramatic color with innovative yet wearable design, Jane Bohan has established a reputation as a leader in designer jewelry. Most importantly, for almost two decades, women have continued to covet her jewelry for its feminine simplicity, unusual textures, coloration, and versatility.

Jane learned her craft at the Rhode Island School of Design, but she finds her design inspiration in New York City, particularly from the dynamic fashion world that is just around the corner from her studio, and the flea markets that keep design history at her fingertips.
Awards
Since 1995, Jane has received four prestigious Spectrum Awards from the American Gem Trade Association for her innovative use of colored gemstones, and both the Tahitian Pearl Council and the World Gold Council have honored Jane's work. Her fashion insight is often in demand by leading fashion magazine editors.
Jane Bohan has also been lauded by her peers for her important contributions to the field of designer jewelry. Most recently, she was elected to the board of the International Jewelry Design Guild, an organization that promotes and creates excitement for original designer jewelry.
Her uncanny ability to predict significant fashion trends and translate them into timeless, wearable designs has garnered her a host of industry awards and recognition from the international fashion press. She has regularly been quoted in a variety of national magazines including InStyle, Mirabella, and Vogue.
Artist Statement
I enjoy working from a particular theme and then designing a collection around it, which will continue to expand and evolve with time. My creative process may begin with sketching, but ultimately I am drawn to my jeweler's bench, where I discover new ideas while working directly with the metal.
My jewelry is an expression of my love for fashion and the elegance found in nature. I begin by playing with shape, color, and texture until I find a combination that is balanced, feminine, and sophisticated.

Silversmith and Jewelry Designer
Jennifer Defoe is a true native of the Southwest. Born in Sedona, Arizona in 1977, she now shares the fruits of her talents at her Room with a View Gallery in the Tlaquepaque arts and crafts village. As a young girl, she had no idea what an amazingly beautiful town she was to grow up in. As time passed, her surroundings inspired an appreciation for the powerful and patient processes of nature. This awareness has nurtured into an elegant and organic artistic sense mirrored by the incredible landscape she still calls home.

Each piece of Jennifer Defoe jewelry is made by hand and one at a time in her studio. She hand selects each stone, and then gets to work designing each piece with a simple, clean design that does not detract from the stone. Then by molding, heating, soldering, and polishing the sterling silver she sets the stone in its frame. She finishes the work by placing it on a silver chain, wire, or complementary beadwork necklace.

Artist Bio
After graduating from Mingus Union High School, she moved to Flagstaff, Arizona to attend college. During her stay at Northern Arizona University, she was unsure which avenue to pursue. Her studies branched out from Business to Anthropology, merging into interior design and art history. “I was not going to be an artist from Sedona because it seemed cliché.”
However, an artist is exactly what she became. She soon realized her passion for creating with her hands could not be ignored. Five years later, Jennifer graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts
, with an emphasis in painting and silversmithing. She has extended education at the Taos Arts Institute and Sedona Arts Center.
Artist Statement
Growing up in Sedona gave me a sense of how much beauty nature can create around us. The variance of nature is what attracts me to the stones I use in my designs. They have unique forms and exquisite differences. The jewelry is meant to set a mood or imply a landscape.
My goal is to show a harmony between what nature has created, and the simple designs that embrace the stones. I look for an emotional connection someone has to a certain piece, and then I know I have done it right.
