Anybody who really loves to listen to lots of audio books on their MP3 player would most likely find that a membership in an audio book club is a great fit for them. There are many different audio books clubs available these days and many of them are internet based clubs. They give their members super easy and convenient access to new audio book titles and a nice assortment of collected titles.

Audio book downloads that are available through a club membership are great for people who have to deal with long commutes on a daily basis, those who travel frequently, or for anyone who finds themselves waiting in lines or otherwise burning up time, yet would like to be a bit more productive. Audio books on CD or as MP3s are also popular companions for people who love to work out and enjoy exercising their mind while exercising their bodies.

Another group of people who are avid fans of audio books and good candidates for membership in an audio book club are those who like to multi-task instead of focusing only on one thing at a time. There are many people who love to garden, knit, do crafts, paint, and pursue many other hobbies but sometimes would like some audio stimuli as well.

Listening to an MP3 audio book or CD audio book gives hobbyists a sense that they are truly maximizing their time by feeding their mind while they also engage in a favorite hobby. Also, sometimes listening to an audio book that relates to their hobby can also help them improve and enhance whatever pastime it is that they are pursuing. Any sizable audio book club that has a good number of members will have a vast library of audio books on CD in MP3 format and members will be able to find titles on just about any fiction or non-fiction topic.

There is some variation in the way that one audio book club will operate compared to another similar club. It is a good idea to carefully read through all of the details of the different audio books clubs that you might be interested in joining, just to be sure that you choose the right one.

For the most part, your membership in an audio book club will allow you to either download MP3 audio book titles or have CD audio book discs sent to your home. The level of your membership will determine how many books you will have access to on a monthly basis. Some clubs have a fairly narrow focus in the genres and subject matters of audio books that they offer, while others will have recorded books on every topic that is published.

While most all of the audio book clubs offer some new audio book releases every month, in addition to an extensive library, some of the better clubs also provide their members with access to a lot of additional content, such as TV and radio broadcasts, news audio streams, and magazine podcasts. If you join a quality audio book club you will probably never have a moment of boredom.

Listening to audio books is a really terrific way to enjoy all kinds of books during those times of the day when stopping to sit down and read a book is not an option. An audio book gives the listener hours and hours of entertainment or instruction, or sometimes both at the same time. They are great for people of all ages and make a long road trip a more interesting and fun experience, instead of being boring and dull.

One of the best benefits of a book in audio format is that is can be listened to at anyplace and anytime. It is a favorite companion for people while they are traveling, commuting, exercising, shopping, working in the garden, or even dusting and vacuuming the house. Using headphones with your favorite audio book player allows you to listen and absorb the information no matter what might be going on around you.

Even if you have a quiet environment for listening to your favorite audio book, sometimes wearing headphones or using ear buds can help you retain the information even better. This is because using headphones while listening to audio books can filter out distractions, improve focus and increase comprehension. In addition, some people simply learn better by engaging their sense of hearing and some students that have trouble often find that their learning improves when they read and listen to a text at the same time.

There are a number of different books in audio format these days that people can choose from. There are audio books on CD, on audio cassette and also as MP3s and any standard CD player, cassette recorder, or MP3 player that you might use to listen to music can function as an audiobook player as well. If you buy a CD audiobook to play in the CD player in your car, then you can also make that same book into an MP3 that can be used on your digital music player, such as an iPod, if you have one. This makes it even more convenient to listen wherever you are and whatever you might be doing.

But, if your car is also equipped with an MP3 player, or with a connection that you can use to make use of your MP3 player in your vehicle, then the best way to buy an audio tome is online. This is because you can download audio books online and this is not only much faster than ordering a cassette or CD audiobook, but it is less expensive as well. If the publishers of audio books don’t have to burn the recording onto a CD or copy it onto a cassette, then they save time and money, and they can pass on these savings when you buy an MP3 audiobook. On top of that, you won’t have to pay for shipping and handling and you can download your new audio book within minutes.

Regardless of the format of audio book that you want, you will be able to find a vast assortment of titles to choose from. Just about any topic that you can find in printed form can also be found in one audio format or another, although these days there are fewer audio cassette choices.

There are many reasons why you might be thinking that you need to get your hands on an assortment of audio books. Perhaps the reason is to keep you company on a regular long commute, or for entertainment during those boring spots of a road trip, or to keep you sane while you stand in line, or to help you prepare for an important meeting. No matter what the reason, there are a number of websites these days that provide audio book rental services. You tap into their vast library of audio books on CD or tape. Some even allow you to download MP3 audio book titles.

There are quite a variety of rental services to be found online. Some of these rental services charge a fee each month, while others have an annual fee that you must pay in order to become a member and have access to their audio books on CD or their audio book downloads, depending on your preference.

An audio book rental service will have many different titles available on CD, and even some on cassette tape, and they operate pretty much in the same way as Netflix, which is a popular DVD rental service. After you join, you are able to create a list of the audio books you want to listen to from their extensive library. Once you have your list, which you can always update and change, you can prioritize your selections.

Next, the rental service will send the titles that are highest on your priority list if they are available at that time. If you choose a new audio book release that is very popular, then you might not receive it right away even if it is in the first position of chosen audio books on your list. For your first shipment, you will receive the audio books that are highest on your list if they are in stock at the time you set up your account.

When you receive your audio book titles from the rental service, you will also have a postage paid return envelop for each of the audio books so that you can send them back individually, as you are finished with each one. As soon as you send one back, another one will be sent out to you from the audio books on your list. In this way, you will always have at least one audio book on hand to listen to while others are being returned, processed, and while new audio book selections are being sent out to you.

Most of these companies have different subscription levels that you can choose from that will allow you to have anywhere from one audio book to four audio books rented at any one time. The fewer audio books you have at a time, the lower your monthly or yearly fee will be. While the cheapest way to go is to only have one audio book rental at a time, most people prefer to have a subscription that allows them to have at least two audio books available to them. This allows them to have one book rental that they can listen to while the other one is being returned.

However, people who have very long commutes, who travel regularly, or have other family members who will be listening to the recordings as well would probably be happier with a plan that allows them to have more titles rented at one time. In addition, some of the audio book rental services will let you adjust your subscription plan as needed so that you are not locked in. This can be helpful if you are planning an extended trip and want more titles to take along. As well, if you know you will be too busy to do much listening, then you can switch to a cheaper plan.
